How to personalize your new home

Pre-Construction Process (consultation, home design, planning)

• Consider you life style – If you have children or pets, consider stain resistant carpets. If you need a home office, consider internet connections and additional electrical outlets.

• Planning ahead – Know what you want the interior of your home to look like. Consider the cabinets, flooring, paint, granite etc. This is your home. Let it reflect you and your good taste.

• Communications – Let your design coordinators know what you like and dislike so they can help you with your selections. Give them photos, ideas from magazines, swatches of colours you like so that they can help you personalize your home.

• Create a wish list – Take home the floor plans mark changes you would like made and see you Sales Representative to see what changes are possible to be made. Be flexible.

• Upgrades and options - Ask your sales Representative which features are standard and which features are upgrades in the Show Home. This will avoid confusion later when negotiating the price of the home. Get everything in writing as verbal agreements will not be honoured.

• Selection dates – set your design appointments as soon as possible and allow lots of time for questions and discussion before the cut-off dates. Arrange for a baby sitter if you have children as the selection process can be quite long.

• Handcrafted homes – homes are hand crafted and subject to variations due to the many substrates that are used in the construction process. Your home is assembled by skilled craftsman from many trades using manufactured products, natural products, electronic components etc. All these factors result in slight variations in the finished home from model to model in the neighbourhood.
